Randolph man arrested for DUI drugs on Beanville Rd, police say

Vermont State Police say a 69-year-old man from Braintree was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop in Randolph late on October 13. The stop occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Beanville Road after officers observed a motor vehicle violation.

According to police reports, Troopers from the Royalton Barracks detected signs of impairment and subsequently took Scott McDermott into custody. He was transported to the barracks, where he was cited and released. McDermott is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Orange Criminal Division, on December 3, 2025, to address the charges against him.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Please note that the court date and time are subject to change, and individuals are advised to contact the criminal court clerk for confirmation of arraignment times.
