Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
This page explains what cookies VTScout (vtscout.com) uses, why, and how you can control them. Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website; they let the site remember things about your visit. We follow this policy alongside the Privacy Policy and the Subprocessors list.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary. These cookies are required for basic site functionality — page navigation, session integrity, and reading your consent choices. They cannot be disabled because the site won’t work without them. No personal data is sold or shared from these.
2. Analytics. Where you’ve consented, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers find and use the site (which articles get read, where readers come from, how long they stay). IPs are anonymized and we do not associate analytics data with individual identities. You can refuse these cookies via the consent banner.
3. Advertising. Where you’ve consented, Google AdSense and partner networks set cookies to show relevant ads and measure ad performance. These cookies may be used to build a profile of your interests across sites. You can refuse these cookies via the consent banner and additionally opt out at Google Ad Settings and aboutads.info.
4. Consent management. Google’s Funding Choices Consent Management Platform sets a cookie to remember the choices you made in the consent banner so we don’t ask you again on every visit.
Managing your preferences
- Consent banner. Visitors from the European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland, and applicable US states see a consent banner on first visit. You can revisit your choices by clearing site cookies and reloading, or by visiting the banner again from the site footer where available.
- Browser controls. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. See your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site; blocking analytics/advertising cookies will not.
- Do Not Track. We honor browser-level Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.
- State privacy rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have specific rights including the right to opt out of “sharing” personal information via advertising cookies. See the Privacy Policy for the request process.
Third parties that may set cookies
The cookies described above are set by us and by the following partners, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google — AdSense, Funding Choices CMP, Analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare — Edge security, DDoS protection (may set short-lived security cookies). Cloudflare Privacy Policy
For the complete list of third-party services VTScout uses (with or without cookies), see Subprocessors.
Updates to this policy
If we add a new cookie category or partner that sets cookies, we update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes are also reflected in the Privacy Policy.
