Vermont State Police say a welfare check on Liberty Lane in Jericho late on October 25, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old local resident, Maximilian Ochoa. Officers discovered that Ochoa had a Relief from Abuse Order that he refused to comply with when it was served.
According to police, Ochoa was charged with violating the Abuse Prevention Order, resisting arrest, and domestic assault, which had occurred earlier that evening. Following his arrest, he was held on $5,000 bail and taken to the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans. Ochoa is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on October 27, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. to answer the charges.
