Vermont State Police say a traffic stop in Vernon on March 28 led to the arrest of a 43-year-old Guilford resident, Kelly French, who is suspected of driving under the influence. The incident occurred around 6:29 PM near 2472 Fort Bridgman Road.

According to police reports, officers responded to reports of an intoxicated driver and located French’s vehicle. Upon interaction, they observed signs of impairment, which resulted in her arrest for DUI. Further investigation revealed that French was also in violation of court-ordered conditions of release and was operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license. She was issued a criminal citation and is currently being held at Southern State Correctional Facility on a $500 bail.

French is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on March 11, 2026, at 12:30 PM to address the charges against her. The charges are allegations at this stage, and the court date may be subject to change as the legal proceedings continue.
