According to police, the driver, identified as Stephane O. Katende, displayed signs of impairment during the interaction. He was subsequently charged with several offenses, including driving under the influence, violation of conditions of release, operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license, negligent operation, and making false reports to law enforcement. Katende was processed at the Royalton Barracks before being lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
