Vermont State Police say a 53-year-old woman from Rutland Town was arrested on April 8, 2026, after allegedly unlawfully entering a home in Mendon. The incident occurred around 11:04 a.m. on Brookwood, where police responded to a burglary in progress.

According to police reports, Marlana Gibeault was taken into custody after officers determined she had entered the residence without permission. Following her arrest, Gibeault was processed at the Rutland Barracks and subsequently transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility. She faces charges of unlawful trespass into an occupied dwelling and simple assault.
