Vermont State Police say a single-vehicle accident occurred on Stannard Mountain Road in Wheelock on November 8, 2025, around 11:13 a.m. The crash involved 19-year-old Eli Shedd, a resident of Walden, who lost control of his 2018 Ram truck while navigating muddy and slushy road conditions.
According to the report, Shedd was traveling east when the vehicle veered off the road and rolled down a small embankment. Both Shedd and his passenger, 17-year-old Emma Gray-Richards from Otisfield, Maine, sustained minor injuries and were treated at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The Vermont State Police were supported at the scene by Lyndon Rescue and the Sheffield-Wheelock Fire Department. The vehicle was towed by Mountain View Auto.
No court action has been reported in connection with this incident. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
