According to police reports, Abbott was traveling south on Route 5 when Porier attempted to cross both lanes of traffic. Abbott’s vehicle collided with the rear of Porier’s box truck. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by either driver, and both vehicles sustained damage—Porier’s truck had damage to the passenger side rear end, while Abbott’s GMC Sierra sustained front-end damage.

The incident took place under cloudy conditions with the road covered in ice and snow, which may have contributed to the crash. Vermont State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Charges have not been filed at this time, and the situation remains under review. Further legal proceedings or changes to charges may occur as the investigation progresses.
