Two-vehicle crash on Scott Hwy in Groton under investigation, police say

In Groton, Vermont, police say a 16-year-old driver failed to yield while exiting a driveway, resulting in a two-vehicle crash with no injuries reported.

Vermont State Police say a two-vehicle collision occurred on Scott Highway in Groton at approximately 11:24 a.m. on April 29. The crash involved a 16-year-old driver, Kortney Darling, and a 46-year-old driver, Timothy Derby, both residents of Groton.

According to police reports, Darling was exiting a driveway onto Scott Highway when she failed to yield the right of way to Derby, who was traveling westbound. This resulted in a collision between Darling’s 2014 Subaru Impreza and Derby’s 2015 Jeep Cherokee. Both vehicles sustained damage, with Darling’s car suffering damage to the front driver’s side and Derby’s vehicle impacted on the front passenger side. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for either driver.

There will be no court action related to this incident, according to the report. The situation remains under review, and as with all incidents, the allegations are subject to change as further investigation may occur.
