The Townshend crash happened around 7:06 p.m. near Dam Road. Police say a Nissan Sentra driven by Cole Eidson, 18, of Dorset, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Kia Sportage driven by Kelley Pluff, 62, of West Wardsboro.

Eidson was seriously injured and was flown by UMASS Med-flight to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition later that evening, police say. Kelley Pluff and a passenger, Emily Pluff, 26, were taken to Grace Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries.

Rescue Inc. and the Townshend Fire Department responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

The Vermont State Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact Trooper Andrew Kelly-Jacobs at the Westminster Barracks.
