Vermont State Police say a 30-year-old man from Newbury was arrested early on November 4 for multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and excessive speeding. The arrest occurred around 12:05 AM on Interstate 91 North, near mile marker 105.
According to police reports, troopers on routine patrol observed a vehicle traveling at 118 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone. After initiating a traffic stop, officers detected signs of impairment in the driver, identified as Jeffrey G. Nolan. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing. Nolan was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on November 19 at 8:30 AM.
In addition to the DUI charge, Nolan faces several violations, including operating without a license and exceeding the speed limit by more than 31 mph, among others.
