Juvenile cited for DUI after single-vehicle crash in Berlin, police say

A 17-year-old from Barre was charged with DUI after crashing on I-89 in Berlin, according to police. The juvenile was hospitalized with injuries.

According to police reports, a 17-year-old from Barre was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 in Berlin on April 24, 2026. The incident occurred around 12:42 PM when the juvenile driver lost control of a 2025 Ford F-350, crossing over the fog line before veering off the road and colliding with the terrain.

Emergency responders transported the driver to Central Vermont Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. Following their investigation, police determined that the juvenile was operating the vehicle while under the influence. As a result, the individual has been charged with driving under the influence and issued a citation to appear in court.
