According to police reports, a 41-year-old man from Bellows Falls was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after an incident in Dummerston. Vermont State Police say they responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in the travel lane on Middle Road around 7:03 PM on May 1, 2026, where the driver was found slumped over the steering wheel.
Upon arrival, officers identified the driver as Robert Mayer and observed signs of impairment. Mayer was subsequently taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for evaluation and later released. He received a citation to appear in court to face the DUI charge.
Mayer is scheduled to appear in the Windham Criminal Division of the Vermont Superior Court on July 28, 2026, at 8:30 AM. The charges against him remain allegations at this stage, and court dates may change as the legal process unfolds.
