Vermont State Police say a traffic stop on Interstate 89 in Colchester on November 12, 2025, led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man from Highgate. Troopers observed a vehicle committing a motor vehicle violation and initiated a stop near mile marker 93.8.
During the stop, police identified the passenger as Eric Smith, who was found to have an active arrest warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans, where he is being held on a $200 bail.
