According to police reports, a domestic dispute in Clarendon led to the arrest of a 25-year-old local resident, Daniel Bongers, on April 1, 2026. The Vermont State Police responded to a report of the altercation at a residence on Colins Lane around 12:32 p.m.

Upon their arrival, authorities discovered that Bongers had allegedly inflicted bodily injury on another member of the household. Following the investigation, he was taken into custody and brought to the Rutland Barracks for processing. Afterward, Bongers was transported to the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held on a $1,000 bail.

Bongers is charged with unlawful restraint and domestic assault.
