Vermont State Police say Celia Savoie, a 38-year-old resident of Bolton, was driving a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek when she failed to navigate a turn, resulting in her vehicle veering off the southbound shoulder and into a gully.

The crash caused significant damage to Savoie’s vehicle, which was declared totaled. She sustained injuries and was subsequently transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment. During the investigation, police suspected that Savoie was under the influence of alcohol, leading to her being charged with DUI—third offense—and criminal refusal.
