Vermont State Police say a 60-year-old woman from Revere, Massachusetts, was arrested early Tuesday morning on Interstate 89 for allegedly driving the wrong way. The incident occurred around 12:21 a.m. near mile marker 77 in Bolton, where troopers responded to reports of a northbound vehicle traveling in the southbound lane.
According to police reports, Denise Lear was safely stopped by officers without any incidents. Following her arrest, Lear was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing and later released with a citation. She faces charges of gross negligent operation and driving under the influence. Lear is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court – Criminal Division on April 20, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
