Vermont State Police say a 31-year-old St. Albans resident was arrested for driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 North. The incident occurred on April 11, 2026, around 9:31 PM, when multiple motorists reported the crash, prompting a response from troopers at the Williston Barracks.
According to police reports, officers found the vehicle approximately 150 yards off the roadway at mile marker 96. After assessing the situation, they determined that the operator, Julia Walters, had been operating her vehicle while impaired. She was subsequently transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for precautionary evaluation. While at the hospital, Walters was arrested on suspicion of DUI. She was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court – Criminal Division.
