According to police reports, a 47-year-old woman from Fort Edward, New York, was charged with simple assault following an incident at Stewart’s Shop in Arlington, Vermont, on March 31, 2026. Vermont State Police say that Michelle D. McAllister engaged in a verbal dispute with 38-year-old Tiffany E. Desmaris from Sandgate, Vermont, during which McAllister allegedly made physical contact that caused pain to Desmaris.
Police were alerted to the situation, and upon further investigation, McAllister was located and issued a citation. She is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on June 29, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
