Vermont State Police say a 34-year-old man from Piermont, NH, was charged with DUI following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Barnet late on March 16. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Peacham Road and Somer Hill Road around 10:50 PM, as reported by police.
Upon arrival, officers found the Chevrolet Silverado HD overturned on its side, off the roadway and down an embankment. The driver, identified as Cole Sanborn, declined medical assistance and reported no injuries. During their investigation, police observed signs of impairment, leading to Sanborn’s arrest. He was later transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
Sanborn was released with a citation to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Court on April 6, 2026, at 8:30 AM. According to the report, all charges are allegations at this stage, and further developments may occur as the case progresses. The Barnet Fire Department, CALEX, and JTB Towing assisted at the scene.
