According to police reports, a 34-year-old woman from Bakersfield, Andrea Teague, has been charged with burglary, grand larceny, and false pretenses following an incident on December 9, 2025. The Vermont State Police received a fraud report from Judith Gates, an 86-year-old resident of Cambridge, who alleged that Teague, her granddaughter, unlawfully entered her home and took her checkbook.
The investigation revealed that Teague allegedly wrote herself a total of $13,950 in fraudulent checks. North Country Federal Credit Union in Richford identified several of these checks as counterfeit and provided surveillance footage showing Teague attempting to cash them, according to police.
Teague has been issued a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on February 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM to respond to the charges. Police note that these allegations are subject to change as the case progresses, and court dates may be adjusted at the court’s discretion.
