According to police reports, a 39-year-old Burlington resident, Ian Gardner, was arrested following a burglary investigation at the Cambridge Village Market on South Main Street. The incident occurred in the early hours of November 28, 2025, when two individuals allegedly broke into the store, stealing tobacco products and lottery tickets.

On December 11, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Gardner’s home in Burlington, recovering items linked to the burglary. Police say Gardner had an outstanding warrant from the Vermont Department of Corrections. His whereabouts were provided to local authorities, and he was identified as a passenger during a traffic stop in Williston on December 12, 2025.

Gardner was subsequently arrested and taken to the Northwest State Correctional Facility. He is charged with burglary, grand larceny, unlawful mischief, and possession of stolen property. Gardner is scheduled to appear at Lamoille County Superior Court on December 15, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. These charges are currently allegations, and the legal proceedings may evolve as the case progresses.
