Wells River crash involving food truck results in minor injuries, police say

Vermont State Police say a vehicle crash on Main Street North in Wells River occurred early on February 7, 2026, involving a pickup truck and a food trailer. At approximately 6:20 a.m., Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were dispatched to the scene, where they found a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado had struck the Hatchbox food trailer.

According to police reports, Nicholas LaRose, 21, of Perkinsville, was driving east on US Route 302 when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered road. The truck crossed Main Street North and collided with the food trailer, which was occupied by its owner, 42-year-old Michael Arnold of Wells River. Arnold sustained suspected minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital. The Silverado sustained minor front-end damage, and neither LaRose nor his passenger, 18-year-old Alyssa Vance of Newbury, reported injuries.

LaRose is being charged with a civil violation related to the incident. The legal process is ongoing, and court dates may be established as the case develops, with all charges being allegations at this time.
