According to police reports, a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 93 southbound in Waterford early Saturday morning resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old man. Vermont State Police say Joseph Szilagyi, a resident of Littleton, New Hampshire, was charged with driving under the influence after officers observed signs of impairment at the scene.
The incident occurred around 2:30 AM near mile marker 6.6. Szilagyi’s vehicle, a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer, sustained significant damage and was deemed totaled. Two passengers, Brenton Jarry, 24, and Lori Robinson, both from Littleton, were also present in the vehicle and were transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital for suspected minor injuries.
Police processed Szilagyi at the St. Johnsbury Barracks before issuing him a citation. He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on January 12, 2026, at 8:30 AM. These charges remain allegations until proven in court and may be subject to change as the case progresses.
