A two-vehicle crash occurred on US Route 7 in New Haven, Vermont, when a Hyundai attempted a left turn, leading to a collision. Police say a driver was charged with failing to yield.

According to police reports, a two-vehicle crash on US Route 7 in New Haven Junction occurred on December 11 at approximately 8:55 a.m. Vermont State Police say the accident involved a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq, operated by 32-year-old Max Kinlund of Bristol, and a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 22-year-old Jackson Hanson from Austin, Texas.

Investigation indicated that Kinlund was traveling south and attempted to make a left turn into a gas station parking lot without yielding to Hanson, who was driving north and exceeding the posted speed limit. The collision resulted in the Jeep overturning onto its passenger side. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the New Haven Fire Department and the Bristol Rescue Squad. Kinlund is facing potential charges under Vermont law related to failing to yield while turning left, which carries a fine of $220 and two points on his driving record.

No court action has been reported at this time, and the charges remain allegations pending further legal proceedings.
