Vermont State Police say a late-night incident on January 23 led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man from Sharon, Vermont. Authorities responded to a report of an intoxicated individual attempting to enter a home in Tunbridge around 11:58 PM.
According to police, while en route to the scene, officers discovered a vehicle off the road on Strafford Road. Their investigation indicated that Matthew L. Tobin had been operating the vehicle while impaired. He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence and unlawful trespass. Tobin was released with a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in court.
Tobin’s court date is set for February 18, 2026, at 8:30 AM at the Orange District Court in Chelsea. The charges are allegations at this stage, and the legal circumstances may evolve as the case progresses.
