Troy motor vehicle crash results in citation for operator, police say

According to police reports, a two-vehicle crash occurred on February 19, 2026, at approximately 4:50 PM on Vermont Route 100 near the intersection with Vermont Route 101 in Troy. The incident involved a 2025 Toyota Highlander driven by 47-year-old Shanshan Ding from Scarsdale, NY, and a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox operated by 49-year-old Cherilyn Jenkins of Colchester, VT.

Police say the collision happened when Ding failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in front-end damage to both vehicles. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from either driver, both of whom were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Following the investigation, Ding was charged with a civil violation for the failure to yield, as documented in Vermont Civil Violation Complaint 7120503.
