According to police reports, a 24-year-old man from Swanton, Andrew Joseph Robert Weatherwax, was arrested on December 15, 2025, following an alleged assault in the town. Vermont State Police say they were alerted to the incident at approximately 3:01 PM and determined that Weatherwax intentionally inflicted pain and/or bodily injury on 20-year-old Damon Unwin, also from Swanton.

Police located Weatherwax at his residence, where he was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the St. Albans Barracks for processing. He has been charged with simple assault and was issued a citation to appear before Franklin County Superior Court on December 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

The allegations against Weatherwax are currently under legal review, and he will have the opportunity to respond to the charges in court.
