According to police reports, a school bus incident occurred on January 17, 2026, at around 6:05 PM on the I-89 Southbound exit 3 off-ramp in Royalton. Vermont State Police say the bus, operated by 26-year-old Brittani Pontier of Bennington, slid off the roadway while she was negotiating the ramp.
Troopers arrived to find the bus in the grassy area between the southbound off-ramp and the southbound on-ramp. At the time of the incident, the bus was carrying ten students and a coach, who were returning from a dance recital. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. The bus was subsequently removed from the grassy area and was able to continue its journey.
