Vermont State Police say a single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on US 302 near Church Street in Ryegate on February 8, 2026. The incident, reported around 7 PM, involved a 2015 Toyota RAV4 driven by 38-year-old Mathew Costa from Peacham, Vermont.

According to police, Costa was found at the scene with indications of impairment. He was transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. After being released from the hospital, Costa was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was taken to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing, where he received a citation and was subsequently released.
