Vermont State Police say a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 in Norwich resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old woman on March 15, 2026. Troopers responded to the scene near mile marker 80.4 at approximately 5:15 PM, where they discovered significant damage to a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek operated by Shannon C. Gaetz of Corinth, Vermont.
According to police, while investigating the crash, officers observed signs that Gaetz was impaired. She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and negligent operation of a vehicle. Following her arrest, Gaetz was taken to the Hartford Police Department for processing and later released with a citation.
Gaetz is scheduled to appear in Windsor Superior Court at White River Junction on March 31, 2026, at 8:30 AM. The charges against her are allegations at this stage, and the court date is subject to change. It is advised to contact the criminal court clerk for confirmation of the arraignment time.
