Vermont State Police say a motor vehicle crash occurred on February 21 at 7:51 a.m. on VT Route 22A in Orwell, near Mutton Square Road. The incident involved a 2025 Volvo TT-Unit operated by 56-year-old Kenny Barros of Schenectady, New York, who was wearing a seat belt. According to police reports, Barros was traveling south when he veered off the lane and collided with a tree, resulting in front-end damage to the vehicle and neck pain for the driver. He was transported to Porter Medical Center for evaluation.

The crash prompted intermittent road closures for approximately four hours as emergency services responded to the scene. Assisting agencies included the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement, Benson Fire Department, Orwell Fire Department, and Middlebury Regional EMS.

Barros has been charged with a traffic violation for driving on roadways laned for traffic, which carries a fine of $220 and two points on his driving record. Court action for this case has not been reported, and the charges remain allegations as the case progresses.
