Head-on crash in Mendon injures two, Vermont State Police say

According to police reports, a two-vehicle collision occurred on US Route 4 in Mendon on February 20, 2026, around 4:39 PM. The accident involved a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by 37-year-old Kimber Mills of Rutland, and a 2019 Toyota Rav4 operated by 32-year-old Taelor Gale from Chittenden.

Police say Mills was heading west when she lost control of her vehicle and collided head-on with Gale’s eastbound car. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage and came to rest off the roadway. Minor injuries were reported for both drivers and a passenger in Mills’ vehicle, 43-year-old Kaleena Meighan, though none required hospitalization. Gale was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

The Rutland Barracks of the Vermont State Police were on the scene, assisted by the Rutland City Fire Department and the Regional Ambulance Service. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
