Vermont State Police say a two-vehicle crash on Waterbury Stowe Road in Waterbury resulted in a fatality on January 24, 2026. Troopers from the Berlin Barracks received reports of serious injuries following the collision and responded to the scene.
According to police, a southbound Honda CR-V driven by 61-year-old Paula Breining of Waitsfield crossed the center line and struck a northbound Hyundai Tucson operated by 41-year-old Rohtash Kumar of Montpelier. Kumar and his passenger, 43-year-old Sita Devi, were taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for minor injuries. Breining was pronounced dead at the scene.
