Vermont State Police say a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 100 in Duxbury early Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old man. Michael Shannahan, a resident of Plymouth, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:33 AM on February 26, 2026, amid active snowfall and wet road conditions. Upon arrival, officers noted signs of impairment and subsequently charged Shannahan with DUI and criminal refusal. No injuries were reported, and there was no damage to his vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Sprinter.

Following processing at the Berlin Barracks, Shannahan was released with a citation. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on March 13, 2026, at 8:30 AM.
