According to police reports, a 46-year-old man from Brownington was arrested on January 19, 2026, for violating court-ordered conditions related to operating a motor vehicle. Vermont State Police responded to a report of an individual found unconscious in an unregistered vehicle on Hunt Hill Road.

Upon investigation, police identified the vehicle’s owner as David Powers. Officers discovered that Powers had been operating the unregistered vehicle on a public highway, contrary to his release conditions. After conducting an impairment screening, authorities took Powers into custody. He was later released with a citation requiring him to appear in Orleans County Criminal Court.

Powers is scheduled to appear in court on March 10, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. The charges against him are currently allegations, and the court date may change as the case progresses.
