According to police reports, a domestic dispute in Bristol led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man on December 26. Vermont State Police were called to a residence on Carterville Road shortly after 10:30 PM, where they discovered that Andrew J. Sumner allegedly caused a household member to fear imminent serious bodily injury and violated conditions of his release.
Sumner was taken to the New Haven Barracks for processing before being moved to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility. He has been charged with domestic assault and violation of conditions of release. His bail has been set at $2,000, and he has received a criminal citation directing him to appear in the Addison County Superior Court Criminal Division on December 29 at 12:30 PM, according to police.
