Vermont State Police say a 62-year-old Albany resident has been charged with domestic assault following an incident on Hartwell Pond Road late Monday evening. According to police reports, officers responded to a disturbance call around 9:07 PM and discovered that Daniel Fontaine allegedly inflicted bodily harm on a household member and created a situation that instilled fear among those present.

Fontaine was taken into custody and transported to the Derby Barracks for processing. He has been issued a citation to appear in Orleans Superior Court on February 17, 2026, at 12:30 PM.
