Vermont State Police say a vehicle crash involving a power pole occurred on December 6, 2025, around 1:27 p.m. on Bushey Road in Swanton. The incident involved a 2020 Chevrolet Express van driven by 47-year-old Chad King of Sheldon, Vermont, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to the report, police arrived at the scene to find the van off the south side of the road with considerable damage to the front end and passenger side. A broken utility pole was also down across the roadway, posing a hazard due to downed wires. Fortunately, King did not sustain any injuries from the accident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to reach out to the St. Albans Barracks at 802-524-5993 or submit an anonymous tip online. The Vermont State Police received assistance from the Swanton Fire Department, Swanton Electric, and Stone’s Towing during their response to the scene.
