Vermont State Police say a domestic incident on Weston Heights Road in Rockingham led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man on December 4, 2025. Joshua Holmes is accused of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, criminal threatening, reckless endangerment, and violating an abuse prevention order.
According to police reports, officers responded to a family dispute and discovered that Holmes had allegedly assaulted a household member and threatened to inflict serious bodily harm. Investigators also found that he was in possession of firearms, despite being prohibited from doing so due to a prior abuse prevention order violation. Holmes was located the following day at a residence on Pleasant Valley Road and taken into custody.
Holmes is currently being held without bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on December 8, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. All charges are allegations, and the court date may change as the case progresses.
