According to police reports, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on April 4 at approximately 6:04 PM on Sunflower Street in Pownal, Vermont. The Vermont State Police were notified of the incident, which involved three vehicles, including a 2006 Buick LaCrosse operated by 21-year-old Simon Free of Bennington.

Investigators determined that Free drove his vehicle into two parked cars, causing moderate damage to both. Following the crash, he fled the scene but was later located by authorities. Free has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Negligent Operation.

He has received a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Bennington Criminal Division, on May 11, 2026, at 8:30 AM. No injuries were reported in the incident, and a clear weather condition was noted at the time of the crash.
