Vermont State Police say a 41-year-old man from Irasburg was arrested on March 26, 2026, following a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on US Route 5. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM when police responded to the scene and determined that Jason Abel had inflicted physical harm on a household member.

According to the report, Abel was taken into custody, processed at the Derby Barracks, and subsequently transported to the Northern State Correctional Facility. He has been charged with domestic assault. Following his arrest, Abel was held on a $500 bail.
