Vermont State Police say a 43-year-old man from Hampton, New Hampshire, died while skiing at Sugarbush Resort in Warren on March 28, 2026. According to police reports, Cory Hartman suffered a fall on Stein’s Run around 3:26 p.m. and subsequently slid into a wooded area off the trail.

Emergency responders, including ski patrol, found Hartman unresponsive and transported him to the base of the mountain, where Mad River Valley Ambulance personnel were waiting. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was not suspicious. An autopsy will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington to establish the cause and manner of death. According to the report, no additional information is available at this time.
