According to police reports, a 26-year-old man from Colchester was arrested for driving under the influence following a high-speed traffic stop on Interstate 89 in Winooski. The incident occurred on March 28, 2026, when Vermont State Police observed a vehicle traveling at 106 mph in a 55 mph zone.

After pulling the vehicle over at approximately 8:18 PM, officers identified the driver as Joshua J. Derouchie. During their interaction with Derouchie, police say they noticed signs of impairment, prompting further investigation that led to his arrest on suspicion of DUI and grossly negligent operation of a vehicle.

Derouchie was subsequently taken to the Williston Barracks for processing and later released with a citation.
