Vermont State Police say a three-vehicle collision occurred on VT Route 100 near Gregg Hill Road in Waterbury on March 20, 2026, around 1:41 p.m. The crash involved a 22-year-old driver, Carly Messick from Lancaster, PA, who lost control of her 2018 Honda CRV due to icy conditions, crossing into oncoming traffic.
According to police reports, Messick’s vehicle collided with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer driven by 50-year-old Amy Lacey of Bealeton, VA. Lacey sustained minor injuries and was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment. Following the initial impact, 44-year-old Christopher Tomaino from East Setauket, NY, struck Lacey’s vehicle with his 2021 Ram 1500 while traveling south on the same road. Tomaino’s vehicle sustained minor damage, and he reported no injuries.
Police say the Waterbury Fire Department and Waterbury Ambulance assisted at the scene, and towing services were called to remove the damaged vehicles. Traffic was delayed in the area while the accident was investigated.
