Vermont State Police say a traffic stop on Interstate 91 in Barnet on March 6 led to the arrest of a 26-year-old from Canton, Massachusetts. Kevin Monagle is accused of driving under the influence, excessive speeding, and negligent operation after officers clocked his vehicle traveling at 100 mph in a 65 mph zone.

According to police, Troopers initiated the stop after verifying the vehicle’s speed with radar. Upon investigation, they determined that Monagle was operating the vehicle while impaired. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury barracks for processing. Following the incident, he was released on a citation for the charges.

Monagle is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Court on March 23 at 8:30 a.m. According to the report, all charges are allegations at this stage, and the court date may change. Individuals are encouraged to confirm the arraignment time with the criminal court clerk as the case progresses.
