Vermont State Police say a two-vehicle crash occurred on February 19, 2026, at approximately 6:28 PM on the off-ramp of Interstate 89 North at Exit 15 in Winooski. The incident involved a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by 55-year-old Philip Hoffman of Winooski and a 2013 Jeep Wrangler operated by 20-year-old Vanessa Mavraj from Gladstone, New Jersey.

According to the report, Hoffman was observed swerving and colliding with Mavraj’s vehicle while stopped at a red light. After the accident, police noted signs of impairment during their interaction with Hoffman. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and taken to the Williston barracks for processing. Hoffman was later released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on March 12, 2026, at 8:30 AM.

The charges against Hoffman remain allegations at this time, and the scheduled court date is subject to change. Police noted that there were no injuries reported from the crash, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
