According to police reports, Vermont State Police are investigating a burglary that occurred on February 11, 2026, in East Montpelier. Troopers received a report around 9:45 a.m. of forceful entry into a home on County Road, where the occupants noticed a red SUV parked outside. The suspects fled when they realized the home was occupied, and no injuries were reported.
Descriptions provided by the homeowners indicate that two individuals were involved, with the male wearing dark clothing and a surgical mask, while the female also donned dark attire. Items left behind at the scene are being analyzed by authorities.
Shortly after the burglary, at approximately 10:23 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious male in black clothing and a mask at a nearby Park and Ride on VT Route 14 North. This individual was seen entering a maroon Toyota RAV4, which had front-end damage, and was driven by a bearded male with a female passenger.
Police believe these incidents may be related and are urging anyone with information or security footage of the area to contact the Berlin Barracks at (802) 229-9191. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are still pending as the case develops.
