Vermont State Police say a traffic incident on South Street in Bennington late on January 28 resulted in minor injuries for a local bicycle operator. According to police reports, 21-year-old Arianna Angell-Brinn was riding an electric bicycle when she attempted a left turn onto Weeks Street and collided with a police cruiser driven by 23-year-old Trooper Craig Negrin.

The crash occurred around 12:53 a.m. while Trooper Negrin was traveling northbound and attempted to give Angell-Brinn space as he passed. Despite this, she struck the passenger side door of the cruiser, causing her to fall off her bicycle. Angell-Brinn was treated for minor injuries at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

According to police, Angell-Brinn was charged with failure to travel in the left lane while turning left, a violation of Vermont law. The investigation is ongoing, and the legal status of the charges may evolve as the case progresses. No court date has been established at this time.
