According to police reports, a single-vehicle crash in East Montpelier on January 15, 2026, resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Gavin Deiss. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on County Road, where snowy conditions were reported.

Upon arrival, troopers from the Berlin Barracks conducted an investigation and determined that Deiss was operating his Ford Explorer while impaired.
